volunteers needed
Join a committee & help plan fundraising events held every few months.
Dog Walking at Shelter:
Flexible times during weekdays, staying on grounds of shelter.
Saturday & Sunday AM Dog Walks:
In Lambertville on canal or Washington Crossing Park.
Cat Cage Cleaning:
At the Planned Pethood clinic 10am-12pm daily Foster Homes:
Take a dog or cat home and care for it until we find it an adoptive home.
Adoption Days:
At various locations on Saturdays. Hold a leashed dog during adoption days. You will speak to prospective adoptive families about the dog and answer some questions they may have. For every additional volunteer we have at adoption days, another dog will have the chance to meet an adoptive family.
Public Relations:
Write press releases and send to local papers and other publications to raise awareness about Planned Pethood Low Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic, our adoption program, and special needs pets awaiting adoption.
Animal Advocate:
Take on the case of a special needs dog. Create your own innovate marketing strategies and promotion ideas for that pet. Do special visits with that dog in the kennel, take it for off-site outings and to adoption days as your schedule allows. Promote this pet to family/friends/colleagues.
Do Laundry:
So much laundry is generated by our clinic and we do not have a washing machine there because of the septic system. Volunteers take the laundry to the Laundromat at their convenience and return it to Planned Pethood clinic.
Please fill out our volunteer application above and you will be contacted by our volunteer coordinator Karin Petix. Please also download a copy of volunteer waiver form above. Print, sign and bring this with you to your first volunteer assignment.
